Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Emily Kunkel participated in the congressional art contest. Emily's pastel portrait is on display at Sam Grave's office.
Emily Kunkel's pastel portrait of her and her friend Bree Clawson. She completed this as part of a chalk pastel self portrait project in 1st semester. Instead of focusing on one person, she decided to complete it with two people making it more challenging on herself. She is always pushing herself to improve upon her art making.
